Hi,
I'm new to the forums; I've searched the forum regarding my firmware, but didn't find any help. A little background info:
-I bought my Wave in Hong Kong about a year ago.
-The phone had S8500ZSJH1 (VD2) installed in the phone already. I didn't touch the firmware at all.
-I live in the US, there's no service centers here where i live.
I want to upgrade my firmware to Bada 1.2, but unfortunately Kies is telling me "this version of the device cannot be upgraded."
Question1: Is this a legit firmware? or was a custom firmware installed on this phone by the store? i wasn't able to find any info on this firmware.
Question2: Should i attempt to flash this phone, or continue to wait for an update. (I doubt it'll get an update).
Question3: If i were to attempt to flash the phone, what firmware should i flash it? i know there's a lot of versions, but which version do i chose?
Question4: I found a factory format code online that would essentially wipe out the phone's entire memory to factory format settings. Would this code essentially wipe out the firmware i have now, and return the phone to the original firmware, whatever it may be? And therefore Kies would recognize the firmware?
