I'm returning a class 2 MicroSD card (16GB) back to Futureshop tomorrow since it just flat out doesn't play my movies at a respectable framerate on the Samsung Wave.

So I'm looking at the Class 4 Kingston 16GB or the Class 10 Kingston 16GB. The price respectively is $48 Canadian, and for the latter $90 Canadian.

So there's about a $40 price difference.

Would you say that it's worth shooting for the Class 10 so everything just works 100% flawlessly?

I wouldn't pay that much for a memory card.
Class 2 should work flawlessly as well, but maybe you got one that has errors.

Try H2Testw software to check for errors on your SD card
I think class 4 16GB is the sweet spot

Yea, I have a class 4 that does well. A class 10 is overkill I think.

I used to have a class 2 sandisk.

Then when I bought a Lexar Class 6. It was the bomb!

My HD videos, and my photos quality increased by a whole lot. The quality of the pictures are absolutely superb and my HD videos a pretty darn amazing.

You can compare the difference yourself by wathing the many sample videos I have uploaded in youtube. http://www.youtube.com/user/babyjosef17?feature=mhum

check it out. I do not know if it overkill but since I have a class 6, I will say get at least the class 6

Image and Video quality cannot increase by using a higher class microSD card.
Maybe you mean speed...

For HD recording. Speed of the sd card is important which is why it is recommended to have at least class 4 or higher or HD recording. This is what I have read during my time googling for these, and also the same when I went to camera shops looking for micro SD cards.

After I bought my class 6 sd, my HD recording improved a lot. Way less noise than my previous class 2 sd and even when recording in phone memory. All can be see in my videos.

What I did not expect was the improvement in the quality of my photos. The same thing, a lot less noise than previously, and this can be noticed immediately when image zoom in to it's normal size. You can see a lot more detail and lot less noise.

It can be debated here whether the class of microSD will affect image or videos. But for my experience, IT DOES.

I have spent significant amount of money investing in a Brilliant Photo and HD Camcorder phone like the Samsung Wave, why not do the same with the microSD?

Plus I offer proof in the videos I have uploaded.

I think a Class 6 card should hot the sweet spot. I have used a class 4 card too without any problems, though, save some lag in movies, some times.

BUt I am not sure if the lag was because of the Card reading speed.

I bought this Kingston 16GB class 4 card. Its out of stock but you can find it elsewhere:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139193

I transferred 8.5GB of music in 31 minutes which is about 4.5MB/s so it works as advertised and at the right class. Also one of the cheapest class 4 cards.

Yeah, I also went for the kingston class 4 card as it is the only class 4 card available here at delhi (India) rest all  are class2. Its working good...though i experienced bit lag while moving pics from phone memory to card.
