Wave is such a great phone, but that is not something we can say for bada. Anyways, i figured that instead waiting for apps on samsungapps, its better to edit the already existing java apps, which are way to good than the bada apps. So thats why i collected all the java apps i like, searched the net for their latest version and edited them so that they look much better, and of course add auto-rotate. Cool

So, now whats different in the following apps?? Here:

1)Added auto-rotate to the apps which don't have it[ in the following list, nobody but foliant reader has the option for configuring auto-rotate in-built.]

2) Better looking icons.[ i have bumped up the resolution of icons so that they look more beautiful ]

3)All the apps in this list  don't need to have the "fit to screen" and "use virtual keypad" to be ticked off. Just install and play!!

P.S: I will be adding more soon. If anybody thinks an app is worth this collection, feel free to add it here!! Grin

NOTE: Before installing any app from this collection, make sure you delete any previous versions of that app. This is very important

Now, the list goes as follows:

Web Browsers

1)Opera 6.1
2)Opera 5.1
3)Opera 4.3 (this is the latest version)
4)Opera 3
5) UC Browser 7.7

E-Book Reader

1)Albite Reader HD (again the latest version, courtesy Svetlin Ankov, the developer of this wonderful app)
2)Foliant Reader (latest, courtesy a Russian forum )

Mobile Messengers

1)Nimbuzz (new latest unmodded official for wave added)
2)Snaptu (use http://m.snaptu.com/ [or] i have attached the latest in this thread too: )

Utilities

1)MobileRar
2)s-Tools (courtesy Stephan Dev)

One of the best e-book readers for mobile, its page rendering is superb as is its features. It has got a number of in-built fonts so it doesnt require your mobile's fonts. However, there was no feature of auto-rotate, which i have added. It can read epub, txt and many other file types. My personal favorite.

Its icon was not that good so i have changed its icon as well as other things.Albite Reader HD

Another great reader. Its GUI is great as is the in-built e-book downloader. It has an excellent book management system which remembers all your recently opened books so that you don't have to search them again,a feature missing in albite. Nonetheless, its very efficient and has many setting that can be changed as per the users convenience, such as the use of accelerometer for changing the orientation. It also has the setting to create user profiles so as to how a particular user likes to read a book. It is really fantastic!!   Cool Although one thing, it uses the inbuilt system fonts. To change the font, you need to change your wave's font from the setting menu.

This is the official new version(unmodded by me) specially for samsung wave.

The new version is packed with useful features that will help you manage better your online presence.

Here are the new features:
Invisible mode – to appear invisible to your Nimbuzz contacts while you are actually online.
New Notifiable icon - for contacts that have the app closed but are available via push notification or Ping.
Mandatory phone number verification for chat-rooms
Faster login
Less data consumption We expect that on average you will consume 50% less data, and depending on how you use Nimbuzz, this could get save you an amazing 70% in data used. Cool

MobileRar is a very beautiful, small app that can decompress rar and zip files. And though it may seem very small, i have tested it and it has decompressed upto 15 mb on my wave!! The upper limit is i guess 30 mb, because its better not to use a java app for more than that. Anyways, its very good for a free decompresser.

Now, i don't think sTools would require any description, but still for newbies and for those who don't know about it, it is a very creative idea of Mr. Stephan Dev who made an app which in turn is a collection of apps which a mobile needs. This consists of:

1)GPSTracker
2)Compass
3)GPSMapper
4)InfoMat
5)MyDate
6)WinOnJet
7)File Browser
8)WaterLevel
9)Seismoscope
10)CameraView
11)SonarLightCounter
12)SensorView

phew..!! a very long list indeed!! Grin  But indeed the best.   Cool

Out of respect, i have not modified sTools. In case anybody needs it to be modified for better looking icons, please leave me a comment.

First of all I'd like to thank you for providing such wonderful apps for our wave, I really appreciate that....

Secondly, I didn't downloaded those e-book readers as yet but I have a question, are they similar to "stanza" for iphone? You know, changing pages just like we do in a book(I just want that page flipping animation) coz I don't like to scroll too much... its gives a feeling of reading a book... even if it is a virtual one.... Please reply...

thanks vedant. And, yes, the e-book readers provided act very same as "stanza" for iphone, also, they have many others facilities like night mode, adding profiles and also locking the current page you are reading so that if you touch the screen by mistake, the page won't turn. Thats nice, right?? But, i think its better to download and see for yourself because they have tons of features to play with.

Ok I downloaded your albite reader and I must say, really an awesome app!!!! I loved it.. Only one thing though, it doesn't changes pages like stanza does.. u know, that page flipping animation... instead, it scrolls to the next page.... What I was looking for is something like this :

http://images.intomobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/10-stanza.jpg

Any Idea how that is possible in that app? or If u can edit it somehow to do that... Its just a minor request, you know... the app is still wonderful ...... Cheesy

vedant bro, i looked into your request and called up my friend( i am not much of a developer, i am more of a modder as i dont get much time). Anyways i explained him your request and he says that since it is a java app, it must be utilising the java heap memory allocated to java apps. And this kind of animation would really load that heap memory. Thats why to keep the app stable, its better to not add it. But dont worry, i will still try.
