Hello,

what is the best protection for a mobile phone? At first I was thinking about a normal case but after a lil bit of searching I came across this:

http://www.mobielbereikbaar.nl/product/samsung-s8500-wave-full-body-invisibleshield-origineel/samsung/s8500-wave/displayfolie

and now I don't know what's better a case or an invisibleshield!

I would use the link below to get 20% discount.  Wink
These films are very good but a leather case is good for absorbing more impact from a drop.  I would never consider owning a touch screen phone without at least a screen cover but I always use a complete kit and leather case. Leather cases are better than plastic as they give a bit because your phone can be a very tight fit in a plastic case with a film kit on.

i brought a gel case that covered all but the screen for £2, and a pack of 6 screen protectors, also for £2. i am more then happy with these!!!

i dropped my phone at the swimming pool on the bobbly tiles in the changing room. to my horror i had a crack on the screen. however it had only split the screen protector  Shocked

Riding my luck a bit without insurance, lol Tongue

if anyone wants the links for the stuff just ask, it was all from amazon.

only down side is that the gel case does collect dust underneth

If you want serious protection, wait until the Otterbox comes out for the Samsung wave.  Sounds like one tough case.  I'd post a URL for the site, but its down for maintainence at the moment.  Thats what I'll be getting for sure.  None of this plastic sheet crap

The otter box is good if you find yourself in one of these situations:
*You are Special Forces and take the phone on missions with you because you like to Twitter about the mission you're on.
*You are bit of a street fighter and are constantly getting knocked down stairs with the phone in your pocket.
*You live in the countryside and tend to fall in mud filled ditches on the way back from the pub.
Other that these situations 'crap' film is good enough, especially if you also put your Wave in a soft leather case.

haha ok ok ya the otterbox is a bit extreme, I admit
I've just never ever had luck with any "films" that I've put on electronic devices before

Yes, I was only joking, the Otter box is the ultimate in protection. have you seen the video of them grinding the plastic film on the Zagg site?

Ok, I'll be perfectly honest.... I checked out the zagg stuff, and ordered the full body kit.
VERY hard to get all the pieces exactly how I wanted them, but the skin does get rid of the slippery-ness of the phone (which I do like)
Then, more recently, the otterbox silicone case came out ($20.00)
http://www.otterbox.com/Samsung-Wave-S8500-Impact-Series-Case/SAM1-S8500,default,pd.html?dwvar_SAM1-S8500_color=20&start=2&cgid=samsung-wave-cases
It is AWESOME
Call me extreme, but I have the zagg full body shield and the otterbox case as well.  The case makes the phone a tad thicker and easier to use.

I am using the zagg max coverage invisible shield and the stock sleeve that came with the phone. Double protection. I tried using a silicone case too. But i don't like the feel of it while holding the wave. I am not using the silicone case any more. I hope zagg makes silicone case type cases with the same material that they use for making the invisible shield. Installation of invisible shield is tedious and requires a lot of patience.

S8500's do carry a stock pouch. The S8530s do not.

mhmmm and I have a S8500
the salesman at the store probably took it out when he was "setting up" my phone and forgot to put it back....
I hate it when they do that
call me weird, but I love unboxing new stuff that I buy for the first time.  the salesmen always ruin it and think "oh, they musn't know how to put in a sim card.  I'll take out all the things and then once I've put fingerprints all over your brand new phone, I'll throw the contents of the box into the bag"

yeah man, the sales man where i bought it from was so eager to unbox it that as soon as handed over the cash to the cashier, this fellow opened it up. He tore up the battery plastic too. I hate it when people do that. I think he just wanted to look inside or have the feel of the wave. Luckily i got all the contents as mentioned on the box Smiley

Well even more so, when I got the phone, the battery that came in the box was dead or didn't work, so he also proceeded to open another wave box and rip the battery out of that one...
I feel bad for the next guy who buys that phone and discovers there's no battery
